FINANCIAL SUPPORT

Financial Support

In addition to the generous food donations made by our communities, Fish & Loaves purchases a standard set of items that stock our shelves on a regular basis. These items are purchased from Gleaner’s Community Food Bank through monetary donations made to Fish & Loaves. By means of bulk purchasing, Fish & Loaves is able to stretch every donated dollar. For instance, for the price of a single jar of peanut butter from a retail store, Fish & Loaves can buy 2-3 jars for clients from bulk suppliers. With every donated dollar, Fish & Loaves is able to provide all the food necessary for three meals to a family in need. Due to low overhead costs and an all-volunteer workforce, Fish & Loaves is able to devote the majority of all donations received to the purchase of food used by our clients. Since Fish & Loaves is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, donations are also tax-deductible. We appreciate the financial support of individuals, as well as area businesses, foundations, and fraternal groups. Please contact Fish & Loaves for more information about becoming a sponsor.

50/50 Partnerships - Roster

Fish & Loaves was launched as a community mission project by a group of churches with diverse backgrounds. Many more churches have since lent their support to Fish & Loaves’ mission of “Ensuring No One Goes Hungry” in the seven communities we serve. Your congregation or organization is invited to become one of the fifty plus congregations and groups pledging $50 or more per month to support Fish & Loaves as it helps individuals and families in need. Even if they do not live within the seven communities that Fish & Loaves serves, all 50/50 partnering churches are able to refer active members of their own congregation for food assistance by filling out the attached file and either faxing to (734) 442-5043 or emailing to office@flcfp.org.  Let us know if you are interested in becoming a 50/50 church or organization. We would be glad to provide a speaker explaining the Fish & Loaves ministry and its benefits to the community. The 50/50 contributions should either be sent directly to Fish & Loaves at 25670 Northline Road, Taylor, Michigan 48180 or through the Donate Now Button found on the Donate page. You will receive a year-end acknowledgment of your congregation’s donation. In addition, a special certificate from Fish & Loaves will be mailed to your church or organization honoring your generous partnership support.

FOOD DONATIONS

Food Drives

Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry benefits from food drives throughout the year. Those donating items can drop them off at the pantry during regular store hours or at pre-arranged times. Volunteers from Fish & Loaves are also available to pick up larger food donations. Please contact our Operations Manager, Bob Cooper at 734-442-0031 to make special arrangements.

Retail Store Food Donations

Fish & Loaves welcomes food donations from area retail stores. Our large, commercial-sized freezer and refrigeration units allow us to receive, store, and re-distribute perishable items that smaller pantries cannot accommodate, including meat, milk, eggs, and cheese to our clients.
